Loopring Monthly Update — 2020/12
Happy, healthy new year! It was a very busy end of 2020 and beginning of 2021 for us. The delay hints at a most propitious sign for Loopring and zkRollups in general, as scaling becomes top of mind for everyone as Ethereum block space continues to be in incredibly high demand.
Loopring & DeversiFi announce a Layer-2 Committee — L²
L2 exchanges Loopring & DeversiFi have joined forces to establish the industry’s first L2-specific committee & working-group aptly titled L2 Squared (or L² for short). Symbolising the launch of L², Loopring & DeversiFi have also conducted a token swap, swapping LRC & NEC respectively.
Shutdown of Loopring Exchange v1; Transition to v2
As you may know, Loopring has recently released its new protocol version (v3.6), and in conjunction, our new Loopring Exchange (v2) has been released atop. With these advancements, we are going to shutdown Loopring Exchange v1 and the relayer service according to the following schedule.
Loopring to Launch AMM Liquidity Mining on Layer 2
We recently launched Loopring Exchange v2 (exchange.loopring.io) based on Loopring Protocol 3.6, and launched the Loopring Wallet Android app. To encourage the Ethereum community to move to layer-2, we decided that we will initiate multiple liquidity mining programs around the end of December 2020.
Update on Loopring Exchange Liquidity Mining Campaigns
Today we have launched three new liquidity mining campaigns on Loopring Exchange. In total, there are currently four campaigns. Four campaigns simultaneously will continue to be the cadence going forward, to ensure there are always several opportunities for liquidity providers to earn.
Loopring Monthly Update — 2020/08
This month we released Loopring Wallet’s smart contract v1.1 and started the app’s UX/UI redesign. We hope to invite users to an early beta in September. Loopring 3.6 is close to code-complete (a quite special new feature was added) and the external security audits will start in two weeks.
Loopring Protocol 3.6: Features and Challenges, EDCON Presentation
Loopring protocol has its much anticipated v3.6 upgrade coming in Q4 2020. This version is robust and feature-full enough that we envision it can actually allow Layer 2 to make a dent in the current Ethereum congestion, and support many millions of users for the next several years.
Market Maker Rebates, New Fee Schedule Implemented on Loopring Exchange
A rebate of 8% of trading fees is rewarded to all maker orders on Loopring Exchange going forward, and also is applied retroactively to all maker orders since April 29th. Maker fees were at 0% previously. There is also a new taker fee schedule, now spanning between 0.06%-0.2%.
