With protocol 2 complete and undergoing audits, our attention has also turned towards protocol 2.1, with security token support taking shape. Frontend web and mobile products have been refined and released — lots of new features. Lightcone Relay backend testing is in full swing.
Protocol
We have continued making small improvements to protocol 2 to make it ready for release. EIP712 signature support was tested in MetaMask to ensure compatibility with third-party libraries.
Excitingly, we have also finished adding ERC1400 security token support planned for release in protocol 2.1 once the ERC1400 standard is finalized. The protocol team is already looking ahead and is researching the possibilities for the next big protocol release.
Relay
Lightcone (Relay 2.0)
Lightcone Relay has been moved into the software testing phase. We have completed software architecture refactoring in a new development cycle. Based on this software architecture, we have implemented actor models and related tests that are parts of core features. In addition, we have started implementing the interface to protocol 2.0 in Lightcore Relay. We also have implemented a new version of market cap API as the CoinMarketCap API will expire in December. The latest API will support Relay 1.0 and 2.0 to provide latest information for global cryptocurrency market.
Frontend & Product
iOS Wallet
iOS development has recently been focusing on compatibility, especially on P2P order compatibility. Users can scan QR codes to complete P2P orders between Circulr DEX, Android and iOS. We have also resolved compatibility issues between iOS app and the latest iOS 12. We have fixed a compatibility issue where importing imToken wallet’s mnemonics generate different addresses. We have improved WeChat login, account binding and WeChat logout. We have implemented upgrading the latest iOS app inside the app. Users don’t need to navigate to the website to download the latest iOS app anymore. We also have updated the UI for transaction fee of sending ETH.
Android Wallet
In the past two weeks, we have implemented login authorization in Circulr DEX where users can just scan QR codes on Circulr DEX to authorize address login, which is very convenient to use in Android app and website. We have also implemented scanning QR codes to enable tokens, submit orders, and cancel orders. These features will allow a better user experience between Android app and Circulr DEX and will be available in the next release.
We have implemented ETH and WETH conversion in the trading view using native development. We have fixed a compatibility issue where importing imToken wallet’s mnemonics generates different addresses.
We have implemented notifications for upgrading Android app. When a new version is released, Android app will pop up a notification where users can choose to upgrade with a single click.
We have been improving the security based on the audit report from SECBIT. We have implemented prohibiting users from taking screenshots of mnemonics, keystores, or private keys. We have implemented strong password checker.
For UI, we have implemented app launch animation, optimized the UI layout of notifications and updated the instructions in English and other languages. In addition, we have implemented traditional Chinese support, set the default language to English, updated the UI when creating a wallet and updated the UI for transaction fee of sending ETH.
imToken & H5DEX
We are going to release a new version of imToken DEX which supports many new features.
First of all, imToken DEX will now support P2P trade. When it’s released, imToken iOS app and Android app can participate in the airdrop, submit a P2P order and complete an order.
Secondly, imToken DEX supports scanning to trade. It will be available on both imToken iOS app and Android app. imToken users can use the scan feature for all kinds of trading, including login, submit orders, cancel orders, convert ETH and WETH, enable tokens and complete a P2P oder.
Finally, and one of the most important features is that above features are available in imToken homepage. Users don’t need to enter the dapp. To use all trading features, users just need to click the scan icon in the imToken homepage. Of course, imToken also provides many features besides these critical features.
It makes it much easier for users to enjoy Loopring decentralized trading. The current user experience will be closer to Alipay and WeChat. imToken DEX is currently in private beta testing, and we will release it to beta users next week. You can learn more from the following videos:
